Perimeter, Area and Volume

 Kia ora Everybody,

This week in P.E and Maths we have been learning about perimeter, area and volume. We have been measuring things in our gym and finding out the perimeter, area and volume. So Right now I am going to be explaining how to find the  perimeter, area and volume.

First I am going to explain perimeter, so if you wanted to find out the perimeter you have to measure your object and whatever number you have plus all the numbers together.

Now I am explaining the area, what you need to do is again measure object and times all the numbers together and there is you area.

Lastly the volume, you have to get you object that is 3D then you measure that depth the length and the width and then times them together.

The things that we measured was our pulse\heart rate, weight and objects.

Here is some of my work that I did...

Already knew some of these measurements but I did still learn heaps of new things well doing them. Thanks for reading my blog. Feel free to leave a comment byee.

History

Hi everyone,

welcome to my blog. Today in Hurumanu 1 we were learning about history. My teacher shared us a google doc with question about what history we know about in New Zealand. Any way here is my work...

Studying history is important because: in the future you might have to make an important decision and you will need to know the past to learn from the mistakes.

3 Historic events I am familiar with in Aotearoa  are:

Treaty Of Waitangi.

2011 earthquake.

Shooting 2019.

3 more recent events that have happened in our country are:

Corona Virus.

Chch shooting.

Volcano white island.

We are listening to chapters from Gavin Bishop’s book ‘Piano Rock’. He says he values his heritage because: his mum and dad are from Tainui and Waikato

Thanks for reading bye have a nice day.

Early Encounter In Aotearoa

Kiaora Everybody,

Today we were watching video about the Early Encounter In Aotearoa. We had some question we had to answer.

Here are the question and the answers...

The first European explorer that arrived in Aotearoa was Abel Tasman.

Abel Tasman arrived in Aotearoa in 1642.

Abel Tasman called Aotearoa Nova Zealandia.

James Cook was the next explorer to arrive in Aotearoa.

James Cook arrived in 1769.

James Cook's had a helper could Te Paia because he wanted to communicate with the Maoris in peace.

A musket is a gun that Auzzies gave to Maori.

The musket war ended because of how many Maoris to how many pakehas there were.

The number of people was like 40 Maoris and 1 pakehas.

My News Report About Mark Watney

Hi everybody,

Welcome to my blog, today I am showing you my news report about Mark Watney.

Here it is...

One of Nasa’s astronauts has been trapped on Mars then rose from the dead. He went missing and his crew couldn’t find him so they said he was dead. They later confirmed his death but didn’t find a body. Then NASA Satellite Mindy Park saw movement from mars then made communication. With the help of Chinese space programme Mark Watney was able to be rescued and be taken back to earth.
