What I think it was like living on Quail Island in 1900

Kia ora wonderful readers 

Today I will be telling you about how I think it was living on Quail Island in the 1900 but first I am going to tell you who lived so in the 1900 there was a sickness going around in New Zealand and it was called leprosy and that is when you get lumps on your skin and your limps start to come off back to the story the people that had leprosy got sent there because leprosy is really contagions so no other people could have the sickness. Now I am going to talk about how it would be if people still did live there it would be way more easier then then in the 1900 because they didn't even want to go there so they weren't prepared but now they would know how to survive there now, so I think it would be really hard but that is only what I think. Maybe yous think different.

My favorite activity in EOTC week

Today I will be talking about my EOTC week and what my favorite activity was. EOTC week is a number of days when the year 5 and 6 go do amazing thing out of school together. In our EOTC week we went Adrenaline Forest, Quail Island, Surfing in Sumner and Ice Skating and Swimming. My favorite Activity was Ice Skating and Swimming because we got to do two things and I got to hangout with my friends that were year 4. Now we are going to talk about the others Quail Island was my second favorite because we got to learn about the history of Quail Island in the 1900. Adrenaline Forest was cool but it was really challenging because we to climb so high I think the highest was 25 meters. Surfing was really fun because I hooked on to it really fast and each time I did it I got closer and closer to stand so I keep trying then I stood up.

My Amazing EOTC week

EOTC week is number of days when we go out of school and go on amazing adventures. The year fives and six went to Quail Island, surfing in Sumner and Adrenaline forest and the year fours fives and six went Ice skating and went to Halswell pools.

Today I am posting about my writing. It is about a spy which is a fox and he goes to find the wicked Dr hammer. My goal was to use strong describing words and action word. I haven't finish it so you could go and watch the video then comment something that I could add next time. Here is my writing hope you enjoy it.

Use strong describing words and action words

When the sea was nice and calm a small family of  penguins came to a big iceberg in the
middle of the sea, there was a mum penguin, a dad penguin and a baby. They were
feeling happy and a bit worried  the baby penguin was going to do his first swim in the
cold icy water. The baby penguin got onto the iceberg and floated into the water. Then
as the mum and dad were proud a laser stract  and crushed the iceberg and the baby
penguin was a lone and this could only be the work of the wicked Dr hammer.
Dr hammer said in 1 more hour my  till my deadly lazer will flood the whole world.

One quiet afternoon Spy fox and Lily were relaxing on the couch then Spy fox watch started to beep really loud just when Lily tried to give him a drink so he said “ sorry Lily I guess we’ll  just have to put our date on pause.” Then he jumped in his flying spy fox car and drove to Dr hammer’s hideout on a hidden island in the middle of the ocean

When he finally got to the hideout he found that the hideout had sardines minion that were blocking the door to get to the hideout. Then he heard the chuckling of Dr hammer so he got on top of the of roof and saw a vent but there  were sardines blocking it to so he climbed up and did his karate moves on the sardines so now that he could go in the hideout. As he was climbing through the vent he saw a big countdown on the on the big screen. When he got the part of the vent where he could get close to Dr hammer but not to now that Dr hammer had kidnaped Lily and put her tied up and lined up to get cut up with a cutting machine  and Dr hammer had his red powerful laser ready to strike again and he said to Spy fox “ you rather save the world or lily.” so he quickle saved lily so lily said “ I will take care of the sardines and Dr hammer you take care of the lazer.’’ so then he tried to look for the button to stop the laser he said “ which button”

SLJ Practice watching TV in Canada

I know I haven't been doing this much now but I got another SLJ Practice for yous on Canada but this is about me I was so tied when I got to my hotel room last night so I fell asleep and I woke up in the morning so thought I just going to relax for the whole day so I hoped on the couch and  scrolled down at the TV shows and movies it was called "Cailou favorite plate" it is about a boy called Cailou had a plate but it was his favorite plate and he wanted it to go everywhere with him and he lost it. I liked that it was different to New Zealand TV shows and what I didn't really like about it was that when had to solve the problem of finding his plate he could of asked if anyone knew where it was. If I had to rate it out 5 to 1 it would be 3.5. Now if you are from Canada maybe you would want to watch a popular TV show from New Zealand if you do here is a link to watch it TV show TV show it called Shortland Street.

My work on technology

Hi guys

W.A.L.T design and recreate a food package that will reduce waste.

Today at school my class has been working on how we could reduce waste. The problem is that many companies makes food packaging out of plastic and it is ending up in the ocean and killing sea animals and plants and that is really bad so we have chose a plastic packaging that is in our lunch box and try and re-make it so it is non plastic. The packaging that I picked was a zip lock bag it is made with paper and wax. On my google drawing with my idea it also has how to use it and the good things about the plastic zip lock bag. My class has came up with some ideas for non plastic. This is my idea hope you enjoy it.

Today we were doing buddy classes and me and my buddy Bless first stared with reading his book Sam's Haircut. When he finish we did his words he got most of them done but he didn't have any more. My score on my PAT test

Before lunch my class did a PAT test on math. The teachers told us to try our best on the test. I was a bit nervous. When it was lunch time me and my friends Talisa and Sonnie were so excited to see our score and stanine. Then the bell rang we started to get nervous again and I was the one that was more nervous because this was my fist time doing a PAT test. Mrs Mclachlan told us to line up and she will tell us our score stanine, and my stanine was 6 but I thought it would bad but the teachers said that it was good because I have never done this before so was proud and my score was 26\35 I was also proud of that to.

SLJ practice I couldn't say hi in Canada

Hi guys,

Today for the Summer Learning Practice we got of the plain in Canada and everyone there were talking in there language so we were surprise  and here is my story. After we got of the plain we were walking though the airport and the people were say thing that curious kiwi and I were surprise  and we were surprise because we didn't know that they could speak English, were doing a happy faces and this my confused face.

This is how you say hello in Canada 'hello'
This is how you say thank you in Canada 'thank you'
This is how you say do you know how to speak English is 'do you know how to speak English?'

SLJ Practice A book for Curious kiwi

Kia ora Readers,

For the Summer Learning prep my class has herd that Curious kiwi has lost his book when we were going to Canada so we had to try and remember all the books that we have reed this year that we thought was a good book for Curious kiwi. The book that I thought was a good book was Bad Guys.
It is about four bad guys a shark, a wolf, a snake and a piranha, they tried to be good so they try save 2,000 dogs then they try to save 10,000 chickens. There are 9 series of them they are very interesting maybe you would want to read them.

my amazing muscles

Hello everyone

 Last week my reading group was reading a story called Mighty Muscles. 

I am learning to read and find the appropriate information I am searching for.

The first article I read was mighty muscles by Sue Gibbison.


Here is some of the facts that I have learnt so far about muscles. The biggest muscles is called gluteus maximas which is the one that you sit on. The smallest muscles in your body is called stapedius and it's deep inside your ear. You have more then six hundred muscles in your body.

I think that the author wrote the story because people know about there body and look after there them self.
